Oh Dear

Just day to day life here in the Royce home. Nothing new, nothing terribly exciting going on, just your usual....

Days spent with the family in the beautiful mountains behind our house. It's about a 5 minute drive up the canyon and you enter a wonderful little world. Brings back lots of memories for me, that is where I spent my time riding my horses as a young girl, where I spent my time hiking with my friends (during school hours) as a teenager, where Rory and I would go for "drives". It is now a place I take my family to go sledding, hiking and for nature walks. I love it here.

Did you know my dog was this amazing? He is.

We like to pull the kids in the sled behind our Razor. It is pretty fun!

Little Rori and Big Rory crashing down the hill. We play outside as much as possible, but with the lack of the fluffy white stuff outside there hasn't been much to do. It's too cold to ride our bikes but not cold enough for snow. This has been a pretty lame winter. So, its always fun when a new friend comes knocking at our door... What do you do when you think you hear someone at the front door and you come to find this?? You yell for all you kids to come, go cut up an apple and invite her in of course!!!

Apparently deer don't like apples. But she loved the kids

Our sweet little deer friend has been back a time or two since and every time she gets a little braver, she has tried coming in the house a few times. I do have a limit (bet you didn't think I did) and I draw the line a deer in the house. Goats, fine. But, deer? No.

However I did say yes to these two cuties. Meet Frog and Prince Naveen. Chanel's babies.

With all the cold weather comes lots of sick kids. Once one gets it, its only a matter of time before they all do. I cringe every time I hear that dreaded cough or a feel a fever on my lips when I kiss their sweet foreheads. But on the up side I get lots of this...

Valentines day was lovely. I always have a special breakfast for all the loves in my life and they love it.

James made this valentines box. I guess my shoe box wrapped in tin foil wasn't good enough?

Other than that. Rori has stopped taking naps in the last couple of weeks. I hate it. She keeps me running all day now, with no break and most nights as well. She has never been a good sleeper and she makes sure that if she isn't asleep, neither am I. We have spent lots of nights on the back deck waiting for her to stop screaming bloody murder for no reason what so ever. She isn't crying because she had a bad dream or because she doesn't feel good, nothing like that. She just cries. She has done this her whole life. I used to do everything to get her to stop. I would be down on my knees begging at 4 AM for her to stop so she didn't wake up her siblings too. Now, we just sit out on the deck and she will kick and scream and then she will just stop. Like nothing was ever wrong, and then she'll say "Mom, I'm weady for bed now." And that's it, we go to bed. I still love her. I wish I could figure out a way to put video on here! She can't say anything that starts with sp like, spooky, spider, sprinkles or sparkle. She uses the F sound instead and I LOVE it!!!

These 2 are inseparable! I love seeing them grow up together, I know they will be the best of friends.

Spring is just around the corner and I can't wait...

I am so surprised Tank just stays with you guys without a leash. Molly and Crockett would be gone
