Lake Powell Again!!!

(This is a picture I took on our way up Spanish Fork Canyon. Made me sad to think that by the time I got back it would be FALL!!)We went to Lake Powell again, this was the last vacation we will probably take for the rest of the year. These last few months have been SO busy with school, sports, family, fun and vacations, vacations, vacations! And Lake Powell is always a favorite of ours. This time we went with my side of the family (Alba's). Once again it was full of fun, laughter, more laughter and family. Everyone had a blast playing in the water and on the wonderful sandy beaches. If I could take my house with me to Powell, I would probably never leave.

We took all of our dogs with us (some of these are my moms dogs) !! They ran up and down those beaches NON STOP! I thought Do G was going to kill over any minute the whole time.

Here the boys discuss their next trick they will do when they jump off the house boat.

Ava and Uncle Anthony

For breakfast Ava loves sand and banana's!

But she does not like it when I try to wash her breakfast off of her...

Jameson had a swimming buddy the whole time. This is Lucy, my moms dog. She is one of the best dogs in the whole WORLD!!!

Jameson also learned how to drive a jet ski!! He did amazing, he hopped on and rode off like he knew exactly what he was doing?!?! I have yet to put that kid on something he doesn't figure out in less than 5 minutes. Literally born to ride!!!
The girls are born to ride... passenger.

And of course when your on a boat with 8 Alba boys your going to see lots and lots of this...
This is Kevin, my mom's boyfriend. Good job Kevin, you survived a whole week of us!!

Jameson copying every move his uncles made....

Sebastian, my youngest brother...

Colton, the 2nd to youngest brother.

Lil Mike, my cousin.

Anthony, second to oldest brother.

Even Chanel got in on the action. This is her first cliff jump!! Good job Nelly!!!

And like it or not, Rori Ana also did a little cliff jumping. This is her first time too! We like to start them young...

Steven (oldest of the brothers), tad (a friend of theirs) Chanel and Rory.

Colton

Chanel fell in love, BAD! She would not leave poor Tad alone for one second. She was there when he woke up and stuck to him until she went to bed. I have never seen her like this before?!! I freaked me out, I saw a little glimpse of what I will be dealing with in 10 years and I wanted to throw up.

And she wasn't the only one who fell in love. This is Khanon, my brother Steven's, girlfriend's, son. Rori Ana liked him... a lot.

I don't blame her, he is pretty cute.

Jameson did some more wake boarding.

Nelly caught her first fish ALL BY HERSELF. She has caught plenty of fish before but usually with a little help. Not this time, this was all her!

Homework time!! None of the kids want to sit down and do homework.

Movie time...

This is what happens when you do a double gainer off a 30 ft. cliff and land on your face... If your lucky! He is so lucky to have walked away with just this!!!!

My little Rori fell asleep in my arms while we were fishing off the slide. She is so cute!

Ava was getting a little hot, she needed to cool down.
I am trying to teach Ava how to fish at a young age...

Jameson and I love to fish together!!!

Ava threw up!! Not too sure why, it came out of no where but I was laughing so hard!!!! Not only did she throw up all over Rory but then she smacked him and the throw up got in his eye!!! SO FUNNY!

For some reason the girls were waking up at the butt crack of dawn every morning this time?!?! So we would go on a boat ride so everyone else didnt have to wake up as well. Although Im pretty sure there were a couple of times Ava woke up all of Lake Powell!!!! It was still so cold at 5 am, we would bundle up.

Fishing, fishing and more fishing...

We went on a little hike up this hidden canyon. By far one of the coolest hikes I have been on!

The sand felt like powdered sugar, it was sooooo soft!!! The girls couldnt stop rolling around in it.

You HAD to walk through this enormouse puddle of water to continue on the hike. I was walking through and went to reach for a rock for some balance when I saw LOTS of little beady eyes looking at me!!!! I think it may have been somekind of spider or something?? Either way I FREAKED!!!

There were also LOTS and LOTS of these guys swimming around in those pools. They are called triops and they are not shy at all. They love to swim around your feet!

It looks easier than it was...

The boys ran out of gas in the middle of the lake...

So we decided to try to tow them to the gas station since we were also running out of gas. We didnt make it. We BOTH ran out of gas in the middle of the lake!!!! Thanks guys!

We also did lots of tubing!!!

The best tube crash EVER!!!

Once again we had an amazing time with family. I loved every minute of it!
On our way home we noticed the beautiful sunset. We kept talking about how red it was and how it was so different. We thought there must be a fire somewhere close by...
Little did we know it was about 100 miles away. Right behind our HOUSE!!! We pulled out of the canyon and got bombarded with calls and text messages from tons of people asking if we were okay and if we needed help or if our house had burned down?!?! Once we got a little further down the road we saw this...

(these are pics. other people took, my camera was dead)

The fire was about 6-8 miles away from our home. Lucky for us, it stayed there. It was so sad to see all the other homes that werent so lucky. We sat on our back deck and watched this all night and most of the next day as well...

And this is what is left.
Makes you realize what is really important. I kept telling Rory as long as everyone is okay and if we could just get home to get our family pictures that was all I really wanted. Everything else is replaceable. As long as our friends and family are okay so we can go to Lake Powell again next year!!!
