BiRfdAy PaRtY!!

The girls FINALLY got to have their birthday party! They have been begging and asking for 3 loooong weeks now! We had to cancel it because they were sick, then daddy was out of town. Next weekend we will be going to Lake Powell, so the only chance we had was Memorial. Some people weren't able to make it because they were lucky enough to go out of town or do something fun for the weekend, but for those of you who did THANK YOU!! We could never have this much fun without all of our wonderful friends and family! And next year our newest little guest might be able to make it, our little nephew Charlie was born on the day of the party YAY!!! We cant wait!

This was Ava's first birthday party! She had a BALL!! She loves the chaos and all the fun stuff that goes on!

Of course we did a pinata! It cracked open on the first hit, but leave it to daddy and Brady to fix that! They wired the dang thing shut, so it lasted long enough for everyone to hit it.

Emerson got to come and play while his mommy and daddy were in the hospital with his new little brother. He had SO much fun! He was ALL OVER the place!

There is ALL 4 of em! I can never get a picture with all of them in it! I know its not the best picture ever but at least I got them all!

This week...

This Week:
  • Rory went out of town. AGAIN! For the third time this month! First he had gone to Lake Powell to do some work on the house boat. Then he had to go to Las Vegas to pick up a work trailer. Then he HAD to go on his annual "Man Trip" to Moab. He rides from SLC to Moab on 4 wheelers, rhino's, motorcycles etc. Any big boy toy you can think of. This time however they went to early in the year and they didn't make it. Poor guy, he has such a rough life. I on the other hand kept things afloat at home, and I'm getting better and better at doing it by myself! Sometimes, I amaze myself!!

  • Rori Ana learned how to open doors!! I realize this is a little late, all my others had it down before they could even reach the door handles. They would drag little stools around with them. But I was really hoping she wouldn't figure that one out anytime soon!! Now nothing is safe! Not unless there is a lock on the door!! It is very dangerous, you have to sleep with one eye open at all times now!

  • Ava got 2 teeth in!! Her 2 bottom teeth made their first appearance on Saturday!! YAY!! This too is late! Chanel had 6 teeth in by her 4 month appointment!! Ava is now almost 11 months!! But Ava is on her own little schedule, if I'm lucky she wont figure out a door until she is 5! Lets all hope!

  • Jameson had his last soccer game! He did amazing, he made 2 goals! He is wonderful at soccer, he loves it so much more than baseball. This also meant NO MORE COACHING!! YAY!! I don't know what we were thinking taking on such a huge responsibility. I think I did waaaaay more coaching than Rory did! He got to go kick the ball around, I on the other hand was scheduling everything, reminding everyone, picking things up, dropping things off, trying my hardest to keep all the parents happy. It was a lot of work and now I can say I did it. We can check that one off our parental duties and never have to do it again! I hope?

  • Jameson took his kindergarten test and he PASSED!!! He is going on to first grade now! He is very excited to see what that is all about! He got into the "Chinese immersion" program and the first half of his day he will be go to his regular class and speak English. The second half he goes to a "Chinese" class and he will only be spoken to in Chinese! Rosetta Stone here I come! This is going to be tough...

  • Chanel graduates Pre-pre school!!! She still has another year of pre school but she is still very excited! Next year she will be going M/W/F and that is great news because if it were up to her she would go EVERYDAY!!

And this Friday the kids are off for the summer! This should be a good one!

Not so good day...

Today Rori Ana has managed to spill her breakfast all over the floor in the kitchen and she still hasn't said if that was on purpose or an accident. She poured a big cup of milk into the huge jug of nesquik, so we threw that away. She peed in her sisters bed. She poured her juice onto the carpet. She decided to get a hold of my hair and take off running, needless to say I'm missed half a head of hair now. She went potty outside, this was fully intentional because she took the time to come inside and get toilet paper and go back out and take her pants off to do it. Oh and have I mentioned I'm running on NO sleep because all 3 of my girls have been deathly ill! All of them are on steroids right now and we had to cancel their birthday party this weekend so we didn't infect the rest of the neighborhood. We have been in quarantine for almost a week now. Rory left out of town yesterday and I had 2 tomcats fighting on my porch all night, not sure if any of you have ever heard something like that but it sounds crazy and demonic! Not something I wanted to experience while home alone. My phone broke today, so now I will have to find the time to replace it. Chanel got into the marshmallow's, James got into the the caprisuns. They both got into the paint and Popsicles and now I feel like death. This has been a not so good day.

Let me add to this post. While writing the last one Rori locked herself in the pantry and took out all the garbage out of the can and replaced it with all of our food! Our bread, chips, cereal, paper towels, onions, potatoes etc. So I sent her to her room and what does she do? She goes into Ava's room instead and wakes her up from a MUCH needed nap. It will be a miracle if she is still alive by tomorrow...

Birthdays, bumps, bruises and being a mom...

This week was another busy one, it started with little Rori Ana's birthday...

She is 2 now!!! Or "wwooooooo" if you ask her. Sometimes she will tell people she is "fwee" but only if she thinks you will fall for it, I keep telling her not to rush because mommy cant take it. We started the birthday morning by waking her up and singing to her. Then we took her down stairs and gave her the BIG birthday SURPRISE!!! A new, shiny, purple (her favorite color) bike!!! She LOVES it!

Then we had pinkalicious pancakes! We sang again, and again, and again. Until the candles were no longer lighting!
Then we made pinkalicious cupcakes! Those were a new thing for mommy this year. I went all out and made a "tutu cupcake stand" and made pink cupcakes with pink frosting. Then we topped them off with very sparkly pink and purple sugar! They didn't turn out at all like what I was hoping for, but with 3 girls and lots of pink cupcake practice I think one day I will be able to get it down.
I also made purple letters for the girls, with the sparkliest crystals I could find. Those turned out ok, sorry I took the picture backwards?!
That night we had the grandparents over for dinner and we sang again, and again. And we all stuffed our faces with cupcakes. Rori Ana was thrilled, she had so much fun!

Then it was Mother's day. It was almost a perfect day, almost... We all played outside for most of the day.
Here are my 3 puppies, they are sooooo dang cute! I love to see them all playing!

The kids had fun playing too!

And so did mom!

That day we decided we would celebrate Chanel's 4th birthday a little early we had yummy donuts for breakfast and Chanel's favorite, scrambled eggs!

We sang AGAIN, and AGAIN...
And we ate MORE pinkalicious cupcakes!! Then Chanel got her birthday present...
The most beautiful bike EVER!!! She was SO excited, she loves it. And she loves to ride around telling EVERYONE she got a "bwan new bike for my birfday"!!

That day we also went on a beautiful bike ride along the Jordan River. It was perfect weather and the kids had a blast, especially the girls on their new bikes. We rode all the way to Grandma & Grandpa Royce's house and had a yummy Mother's day BBQ with the whole family. As we were leaving Chanel decided to go on one more spin around the circle, she decided not to listen to her daddy who told her NOT to go down the hill because it was too steep. What happens when you don't listen to Daddy????
She ran into a brick post. Luckily she had her helmet on but she still managed to get pretty banged up. She hit her forehead where she just got her stitches and got a nice big goose egg. She also bruised up her cheek and chin pretty good as well as her chest! She got a cut on her jaw, split her lip and smashed her hand so now her knuckles are all purple and swollen. She did quite a number on herself! My poor baby girl, I don't know if this is just a stage she is going through or if she has bad luck or if she is just plain clumsy but I am really hoping it stops! Something about when my little girls get hurt makes me cringe so much worse than when James does. Maybe because princess' aren't supposed to be all banged up? But I guess she is just a pretty with all her band aids, now I'm just waiting for child services to show up on my door step any minute!
I don't know where she gets it from. Really, I'm not sure????...... In all, mother's day was a pretty good one. However, I think for as much work as we do as mother's we should get more than just 1 day a year. It should be like one day a week. These kids really run me ragged, so does my husband who is the biggest kid of all. But its all worth it, every minute of it. I love being a mom, its the most rewarding job of all. They teach me something new everyday, they remind me of simple joys every minute, they really are my whole world. The reason I exist and the reason I keep on trying harder everyday. They mean more to me than I could ever express in words. Every minute slips by so fast with these little ones, no matter how hard I try to hang on. I will do my best as a mother and hopefully one day they will look back and really appreciate all my effort I give.
